Bridesmaid skirt???

I saw this skirt at GAP today and I love it. I think it is perfectly adorable and it is in pretty much exactly the color I want. Could this work as a bridesmaids skirt? Comments. Discuss this and let me know what shirts would look good with a skirt like this. My dress is kinda fancy so the shirt would have to be rather fancy too. The skirt is Cotton/silk taffeta. Anyhow, I'm brainstorming ideas... Leave me a comment on your opinions because I don't really care as long as Jared is there. ha ha.

Plus, we could buy it on the first Tuesday of a month and get 10% off since I am a GAP card member. Or we could talk Hayley into getting a job there again for a short time to get some sort of sweet employee discount. :)

  1. Love it. Is there a whole pic of the model who is wearing it? You'd have to peruse some blouses to see what might be good. Maybe something in a Georgette; or the silk thing. Even the black looks formal. What color are the guys wearing?

  3. I love that skirt! I know this is totally random, but I have been reading your blog and I just saw that you wanted to know what would look good with that skirt. I agree, black would be cute, and what a shame they don't show it on the Gap website. Anyways, I was going to say you should go to the David's Bridal website. You can mix and match separates. They have a color that is very similar and then you can try it with a bunch of styles and colors to see which one you like best!

I know we haven't talked in forever, but I'm so excited for you and I hope you are doing well!

    It's cute.

    But, for a wedding?

  5. Why do you all have to look like traditional bridesmaids?

  6. I don't care what folks say-bridesmaids NEVER wear their dresses again, but a skirt?(I might borrow it for a party).
Charcoal gray suits? Silver-gray silky tops? Even white since it is summer.I guess you'd best check with the bridesmaids but you ARE the bride/BE the bride

  7. Thank you, Aunt Suzanne for all your comments.

I'm going to check if the GAPs around college park have the skirt. Our GAP in Salisbury only had it in black and tan (bleh - who would buy that in tan). Anyhow... so I will see if it looks as nice in person and then maybe browse through the mall and see what kind of shirts they have.

  9. Not sure if I'm too late or not... but coming from Nepal, isn't that a bit short?! Maybe I'm the most modest/old fashioned person around these days, but you were looking for feedback. :)

Maybe to measure the length with? Heh.

  10. Yeah. I could see that. I was kinda hoping in person it was longer then it looked in the picture. I really would like a skirt combination rather then a dress.

  11. Oh and it isn't too late... I don't have to pick out dresses for quite some time. But hopefully we will get to do that over thanksgiving break.

  12. I wore the skirt/top that I wore in my sister's wedding as the mother of the bride at Jeanne's. Skirts and tops are very practical, actually. I am hoping to shorten the skirt to make it tea length now to get more wear out of it, but was thankful that I hadn't gotten around to it.

Our tops were beaded. Raw silk skirts (plain) and tops. I'll try to find the name of the designer and shoot it off to you...

(and, Anna, I like you being old-fashioned!)
