Dear Mrs. Taylor,

I thought I should let you know, that I finally learned how to dress. Yes, after over twenty years of almost freezing to death during the long winters, I have finally learned to layer and bring a coat. Today I wore Under Armor, a shirt over that, a sweatshirt, and my coat. I also wore leggings under my pants and insulated boots for my poor cold feet.

It is so wonderful to be warm while walking around in the bitter winter weather. I appreciate your many years of patience with me as I slowly learned what is best for me. Hopefully, I have learned this skill well and will be able to keep practicing it for the rest of life.

Thank you once again.

Faith
So here is how today went:

I took a shower.
I ate breakfast on my way to school.
I went to my first class from 9:30-11.
I remembered I forgot one of my English papers.
I walk ten minutes to my car.
I drive back to the Howards to print it out.
I come back to campus at 12.
I walk back to engineering (ten minutes).
I walk to English (another 25 minutes normally, I cut it to 15 today by running).
I arrive at English at 12:25.
Class starts at 12:30.
Class ends at 2.
We never read the paper that I went back home for.
I walk 25 minutes back to engineering.
I finally get to sit down and rest.

Man, I feel like I have been running all day. My legs feel like I have ran several miles. It is going to be so good to sleep tonight. I can't wait to crawl into bed and curl up under my covers. How has your day gone?

I was going to write you a whole nice post about how I am going to see UNC play Maryland tomorrow over an hour ago. But then blogger decided to be annoying and wouldn't let me log in unless I changed to beta blogger. I tried to fight it. I went a round about way to log into my blog and still it caught me and told me that I couldn't post until I updated. So... I gave in and now I am a beta blogger. I liked being alpha dog. But no more. Hello Beta world.

So...

UNC vs Maryland Women
Tomorrow
The Comcast Center

Anna, Sarah Meadows, her old roommates are coming to the game!!
Yay for people I know!

And...
I was able to spend the day with Jared today!
So double yay!!

For those of you who don't know, (even my sister didn't know) GTH (or GTH Faith) is Hannah Singer's nickname for me. I don't know how it started. It was probably because I told her I didn't find puns on my name amusing, but people really did. But she has called me that for a few years now on my letters and presents. And how can you not love anything Hannah does?!? So after a while I started liking the nickname.

It stands for Got To Have Faith. If she was to go around saying Got to have Faith, I would probably be annoyed. I like GTH for some reason. Anyhow, that is the story behind my blog's new name.

Just a reminder...
Update me on your blog links!!!

We get to redesign this in one of my engineering classes this year.
Scary.
It is a Heavy-Duty 12V Cordless Impact Driver Kit - DW052K-2.
Read all about it.

Romans 8: 28-39
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to this?

If God is for us, who can be against us?

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

For I am convinced that
neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future,
nor any powers,
neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Sarah thinks she knows how Lost will end...
I love my siblings!
They make me laugh.

Dear Blogging World Friends,

I have decided to change the web address of my blog to something that is not my full name. If you have any suggestions, you can comment on my blog. This change will not be immediate and I will give you warning in advance of the name that I have chosen. But for now, if you want something fun to do, think of a new name for my web address. It can be a pun on my name or something completely different.

Thanks for reading.

Faith
I went ice skating today with Anna and Hope (it was more like plastic/wax skating), but it was a lot of fun. Then Anna, Hope, Anna, Rachel, and I went to the MVA to turn in my car's tags (we sold my car - how sad). And while we were there, we sat in the parking lot and watched people take there drivers tests. It was entertaining.

I spent the evening playing cards and laughing with my family. I think I just remember the good times when we play cards. Haha. Mom would probably tell you that we have a miserable time playing cards because we are so mean to each other the whole time we are playing. And all of us are breaking into song and talking and not paying attention to each other. But it is so much fun. It is home. I love being home. I love my family. They are certain. They will always love me.

I wish life were certain. I guess that I just want to be prideful and know where my life is going. It makes me very uncomfortable to admit that I don't have a clue what I am doing with my life. I want to be in control. But then why would we need faith? I wouldn't matter (You could do some sort of play on words there about how Faith needs to not matter and faith (not capitalized) does). The past couple of days I have been working on trying to get some sort of engineering internship worked out before I head back. See I would really like to know what I am doing this summer. But most internships don't make their decisions until May. This means, until then, I don't know what I am doing. I could be taking summer classes, or I could be working around here, or I could be working near DC somewhere. So, what is it?!? I don't know and won't know until Mayish. I am beginning to think that life is one big lesson in patience and trust (both of what I seem to not be as good as I thought).

Also, I am scared to death to get the internship that I want because what if I fail. What if I am just a huge disappointment?!? I may have good grades and be able to memorize things well for exams, but what if I can't apply those things to the real world. I really am not that smart. What if I let people down? Growing up is not fun! It is a lot of work.

I guess I just need to remember that God is gracious in mercy and love.

I need to trust him. I need to have faith.
You gotta have faith, right?

To deny the Divine decrees would be to predicate a world and all its concerns regulated by undesigned chance or blind fate. Then what peace, what assurance, what comfort would there be for our poor hearts and minds? What refuge would there be to fly to in the hour of need and trial? None at all. There would be nothing better than the black darkness and abject horror of atheism. O my reader how thankful should we be that everything is determined by infinite wisdom and goodness! What praise and gratitude are due unto God for his Divine decrees. It is because of them that "we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose" (Rom 8:28). Well may we exclaim, "For of Him and through Him, and to Him are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen" (Rom 11:36).
- A.W. Pink

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Numbers 23:19

Good night, blogging world.

Sarah and I both went to Cape Cod for a reason. I wanted to listen to GT and the Halo Express tapes and Sarah wanted to drive the Mini Moke. The first day we were there, we looked in the attic for the GT tapes. We looked in every box and couldn't find them. Then we asked Mrs. Peipon and she confirmed that they were in Ukraine with her. So we decided to walk down and see the Mini Moke and drive it around. We looked in the garage and we found a mini van. It was rather disapointing. But the trip was great fun, even though we didn't get to see either of the things we came up for. We played dominos and made buckeyes. :) Woohoo.
But we posed for these pictures with the "Mini Moke" anyhow.
I heard a really weird noise while I was driving. I suppose I ran over Anna. But I didn't realize it.
Anna put her foot on Sarah's bumper while she talked to her.

And Sarah actually got to drive the Mini Moke down the road. Anna waved to her as she drives.
We woke up early to go seal watching at the Chatham Lighthouse...We didn't see any seals...
but this one.
Cape Cod Pictures for Mrs. Peipon.
This is what we did late at night when we should have been sleeping.

In front of her plantation.
Pharoah of Eygpt
Sleepy Stocking Cap

Here are a few more...

Anna making Buckeyes.
I only took this picture because there was a picture in one of the photo albums from about three or four years ago where Anna was wearing the same thing and making Buckeyes. So... this was to add to the collection.
Showcase Kitchen
Anna imitating the waterpump. We saw in photographs how the Peipons pose by statues and try to look like them. So this was the closest we could find to a statue.
A sign in a house, we we're supposed to be in.
Some very square bushes.

I did a little rearranging to put all the families together.

And I also added a new link to Cape Cod Specialities.
It is under the name: Aunt Janet and Uncle David because that is all I ever knew them as.

I have been meaning to do this for a while, but I keep forgetting. I saw Mrs. Peipons blog about skyping (at Skype.com) and I remembered that I needed to post this. So here is a link to the best cranberry mustard that I have ever had and the best "bed and breakfast" that I have ever stayed in. And some of the most fun people to play dominos with and the cutest dog! I'll have to post those pictures sometime before I leave. Haha. It has been long enough. Maybe tomorrow.
Yesterday, Dad, Anna, Luke, Hope, Sarah, Hayley, and I went canoeing down and back up the Pond the runs under route 13 by the visitor center and curls around to the Downes old house. It was so nice and warm and summerish. It made me want to go camping, right now! haha. In January, can you believe it?!? Praise God for warm weather. It would be nice if it was this kind of weather at College Park when I returned because I have a 25 minute walk to one of my classes.

I love cat tails!!

Anna watches them float by.
We paddled through this tunnel.
Anna through the woods. And past houses
I never knew this pond was so big.
More blue skies and water
Anna told us to pose because we both had orange hoods on.
So this is our HOOD pose.
* All pictures are taken by Anna and are used with her permissions (well, she is at school and I haven't asked her yet. I'll ask her tonight).

I just printed out my ticket for Maryland vs. Geogia Tech.
Woohoo.

I can't wait until February 25!
UNC at Maryland
What FUN.

I decided to take a few pictures of my quilt with my camera phone. I would have asked Anna to take pictures, but she is at Writing Club. So, here are a few shots just to show the pattern and size. I would have picked out really great material, if I had know that I was going to stick to it this long. But, I didn't. I found this material in my room when I was cleaning up and there was a lot of it. And so I decided, why not make a quilt. Well, now that I am over half way finished the squares, I feel like a failure stopping. So I continue on... Mom says it is good for me, something about learning patience. Because you have to cut out all these little squares, then you have to cut them into triangles, then you have to sew them together (never pick a material with lines running only one way because you have to make sure you cut it the same way each time or else the same number of times different ways), then you have to iron the fold, then you have trim them all to the right size, and then sew them into bigger blocks. AHHHH!!

I am doing two different pattern. This is my first one.
And this is my second one. Jared started the mix-matched design and Sarah improved it.
Here are my eight finished squares.
Another view of my eight squares.

Well, back to the madness. I have almost another square sewn. Then there will be only three more to do and trim down to the right size. Tomorrow I might get to run over to Wal-Mart and buy some material for the edges and some more thread. Woohoo!!
* Sarah posted this awesome website with pictures of old insane asylums. Scroll Down after the Henry V speech.
* Anna put up pictures from our trip to the Enchanted Gardens last week. We all stumbled upon a
giant birds nest.
* My Mom posted Newsboys
lyrics.
*
Mrs. Taylor posted something about Christmas and not seeing Greg for a few days because he was sleeping.
* Linnea posted about registering for her wedding and getting to go around the store with one of those little gun things and picking stuff out. I really want to do this, not the picking stuff out part, just being about to go around the store with the
little gun/scanner thing and playing with it and seeing how it works. Haha.
* Jamie
changed his layout and posted a picture of Noah in uniform.
* Kyrie and Sienna are back on the Mountain and are asking for mail. Which reminds me, I'll be back in College Park soon. You should send me mail too! haha.
* Mr. Howards quotes.
* Anna Peipon updated.
* Jeanne tries blogging again.
* Mrs. Peipon keeps blogging along.

I wouldn't have updated this so soon, but Sarah posted that link to Insane Asylums and I had to link you all to that. It is super creepy cool. Anyhow, I have to get back to my quilting. I'll try to get pictures if I ever finish. I have half the squares made and I cut out the other half of the patterns last night and so today I am going to try to put the last half together. But I will probably only get three of the six blocks finished. But that will still be great. I thought I would give up days ago, but now that I am half way there it seems like a shame to give up now. So back to quilting!

Anna took this picture yesterday and I am stealing it for three reasons...
1. It is of me.
2. It is of me and a BMW.
3. It is of me, a BMW, and a UNC license plate!!

Enough said??

Beauty. This is one of the most amazing combinations I have ever seen!
We went to Winterthur Museum and Country Estate yesterday. We being Hayley, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Harter, Anna, Elizabeth, Mom, Sarah, and I. We went there to see this display called Fashion in Film. It was three rooms of costumes from different films.

Then we toured the 175 room (nine-story) house. We really only got to see some of the first floor, some of the fourth floor, and most of the fifth floor. But it was still neat! We also got to walk around the huge gardens and play in the childrens enchanted woods.

Here are a few of the costumes that we saw (my favorite and the two I came for were Darcy's suit and Drew Barrymore's dress):

Sense and Sensibility
Kate Winslet as Marianne Dashwood, 1800
Alan Rickman as Colonel Brandon, 1800

Elizabeth
Cate Blanchett as Young Elizabeth I, Period ca. 1555

Indiana Jones and The Secret Garden

Ever After
Drew Barrymore as Danielle, Period ca. 1510

Pride and Prejudice
Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy, Period ca. 1812

1 Corinthians 1:18-31

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."

Where is the wise man?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the philosopher of this age?
Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

Brothers, think of what you were when you were called.
Not many of you were wise by human standards;
not many were influential;
not many were of noble birth.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise;
God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,
so that no one may boast before him.

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."
