The way I see - from the side of a Starbucks Coffee Cup

"You are not an accident. Your parents may not have planned you, but God did. He wanted you alive and created you for a purpose. Focusing on yourself will never reveal your purpose. You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense. Only in God do we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny."

-- Dr. Rick Warren
Author of The Purpose-Driven Life.

I thought that it was pretty awesome that Starbucks put a quote like this one their cups. And I had nothing else to say. Haha.

Friday Night was the coffee house.
It was three and a half hours of entertainment.
I should have brough a camera, but I didn't. But I think other people did. So maybe they will post pictures. Otherwise, you will just have to imagine that you are there.

And in case you wanted to hear Jared sing. Sorry that I have to link you to a site and then to the link. It won't let me direct link it to my blog. Enjoy. :)

Luke has been asking for a while for our family to do this. And I think it is a great a idea, especially since I rarely watch TV.

TV Free Week begins tomorrow
at my house.

Join in if you want.

If you dare...

John 21:25
"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written. "

Sarah pointed this verse out to me yesterday during Sunday School.
I really like my sister.
She has a way of finding verses that have never stuck out to me before, but when she points them out, I wonder why I never saw them before.

Thank you, Sarah.
This last week has been insufferably long.

I feel like I lived two million years.
And I really didn't do anything this weekend.

Have you ever had a week like that?

ps. The Easter Party at the Huntingtons was very enjoyable and relaxing. Thanks for the invite Mrs. Huntington. I love coming to your house! Woohoo.

Yep, Jared picked up our tickets, he was walked through where to stand, we sat around for a while and waited, given a mic, he sang the National Anthem, people clapped, and we walked out to go to Bible Study.
Next time he sings maybe we will stay for the game. Haha. It was quite a rush. And I wasn't even singing. But I did get to go out on the field and take picture of him singing with the shorebird's photographer. How much fun is that?!? I wish I had known how to use Hannah's camera a little better. But if you want to see photos go to Hannah's blog. w00t. I think the picture of him on the scoreboard is pretty nifty. Woohoo.

That Jared Shelton sure can sing.

O say, can you see?

Guess who is singing at the Shorebirds tonight and on another night with fireworks?!?
Woohoo.

Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules.
Happy Birthday, Anna and Jeanne!

It seems like so long ago that I was going to your 18th birthday party, but it also almost seems like yesterday.
Time is a funny thing.

Happy more time on this earth.

Praise to the Lord, Who over all things so wondrously reigneth,
Shelters thee under His wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen how thy desires ever have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?

Praises - newsboys.

Tears have fallen water beads
Wipe the floor with my regrets
In the crevice tiny seeds
Spring to life from
Pardoned debts

And all I have is, all I have
Praises on my tongue
From my heart
For our God who became flesh
For us all
Unto You
I will sing my praises
Sing forever

In the quiet I lament
Every nail, my sin did buy
And I wonder why You spent
Lavish blood on such as I

When all I have is, all I have
Praises on my tongue
From my heart
For our God who became flesh
For us all
Unto You
I will ever sing my praises
I will sing forever

Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing
To sing aloud
Sing aloud
Oh, to the glory of my God and King
To sing aloud
Sing aloud
I was remembering back to when I had surgery and I was too sick, from the morphine and other random drugs, to eat anything, but a package of goldfish, Mrs. Taylors cheese soup (without the cabbage), and six full sized Mr. Goodbars. Strong pain killers always make me upset to my stomach and I can't wait to get off of them and just take ibuprofen.

I started out this post to say how much I loved Mr. Goodbars. Other than dark chocolate and kit kats, and twix... they are one of my favorite candies.

This is some really cool bridge I found.

The Millau Viaduct (French: le Viaduc de Millau) is a cable-stayed road bridge that spans the valley of the River Tarn near Millau in southern France. Designed by French bridge engineer Michel Virlogeux in collaboration with British architect Norman Foster, it is the tallest vehicular bridge in the world, with one pier's summit at 341 metres (1,118 ft)—slightly higher than the Eiffel Tower and only 40 m (132 ft) shorter than the Empire State Building. It was formally opened on 14 December 2004 and opened to traffic on 16 December 2004.

And this is the picture of me after I helped paint ceilings at the Townsends back on September 27. Woohoo. What fun.

I don't know how many of you read the Communique at church. I confess I don't always read it. I stopped reading it once I stopped writing for it. But this month my attention was directed to an article by Meg Meiners one of our Church's missionaries. She is on the Missions Field (if I remember correctly) with the McBrides, in Tanzania. Anyhow, the article said she had a blog, www.africanrains.blogspot.com . Read the entry called, "My heart the idol factory" if you decide to go there. Wow.

So I check it out and followed a few other blogs to this other blog and found this picture on the side. It was next to some instructions on how to make sandals out of old tires. What an interesting idea. I think this is very creative.
Glory be.
After four weeks of waiting, I have finally been welcomed into the Clark School of Engineering at University of Maryland.
WOW, I am excited.

The moral of this story is, if you want something done, you have to call and bug people until they finally grow tired of you and do what you want, just to get rid of you. Haha.
